Abstract: This article presents the results of an investigation done with eighteen students in the sixth grade of the Colegio Mayor Alférez Real. The issue with the students was related to reading comprehension in English, for that reason, the skimming strategy was used as a manner of investigating the problem in depth. The general objective stated for research was to analyze if the implementation of the skimming skill strategy through videogames is suitable for improving reading comprehension. The videogame was used as a means to use the skimming strategy to find out if it was possible to improve reading comprehension. Throughout the study, a lot of observation took place (including both participant observation as well as non-participant observation), and for that reason, it was necessary to use field notes and questionnaires in order to have sufficient physical data.
